Offleash Dogs Web Ring: home page
What's the history of this ring? Who can be a member of this ring? Who is already in this ring? How can I join? What's the HTMLfragment? How can I edit my site information once my site's in the ring? How can I find a dog park/beach in a specific location or start one of my own? What should I do if I'm at a dog park/beach and my dog gets attacked? For offleash and other dog-themed clothes, gifts, stickers, and more, visit the Mistress' new CafePress shop: I'm Stumped! Read the Mistress' I'm Stumped! blog for the latest rants, commentaries, and suggestions (not necessarily dog-related, but generally practical)
Also check out Lucy's Suggestions for books & movies, many about dogs but also covering classics and odd topics, most of which are available through Amazon.com.
Go to the "Children's fiction about pets" section there for more details on the upcoming kids' book

What's the HTMLfragment? The HTMLfragment is the code which, when placed on your site, allows the Net Ring software to connect your site to the rest of the ring.
First, grab your favorite of these paw-print images (or create your own, of a similar size). Save it to your own server (wherever your web site resides). You may have to save it to your personal computer first and then upload it to your site (ISP/web host). You can use one or more of:
Grab the site logo. Save it to your own server (wherever your web site resides). You may have to save it to your personal computer first and then upload it to your site (ISP/web host). If you like, you may substitute a similar image - photo, sketch, computer-generated, etc. - of another dog having fun, as long as it is about the same size and is in good taste.
Here's the HTMLfragment you'll need to cut and paste for your site to be on our ring (once your site has been approved). Cut and paste it from this page, not from the source of this page. You must put this code on the web page you list when you sign up for the ring; otherwise, the WebRing software will automatically reject your site. If your main page does not allow this (for instance, if the URL you gave points to a mailing list or discussion group or the results of a search at another site), you must create a page on which to put this code before you can be added to the ring. You can get a free page from many different sources. <P>Don't forget to change the LOCATION_OF_... references to point to the images you are planning to use! Also, make sure you've changed all references to EMAIL_ADDRESS, SITE_NAME, and SITE_ID. Otherwise, the HTMLfragment will be rejected by the WebRing software and your site won't work within the ring.
Once you've done all of that, here's what you should see on your page:
If you'd like to change the background color and/or add a border (size 1 or 2), or if you've changed the logo and yours looks better on the left, that's fine. HOWEVER, make sure you leave the font & layout/formatting as is (other than swapping the image left/right) to keep the banner recognizable from site to site. |
